The effects of hyperbaric oxygenation on hemodynaic in acute carbon monxide poisoning, induced by the rebreathing of about 2% CO gas mixture for five minutes, were studied in mongrel dogs. After the induction of the poisoning the experimental group was treated by hyperbaric oxygenation for 60 minutes and the control-group by 100% oxygen inhalation over the same period of time. There weree no differences, between control and experimental groups, in heart rate femoral artery mean pressure, venous pressure and pulmonary artery´ mean pressure. However, strobe volume and cardiac output were decreased and total peripheral resistance was increased in the experimental group compared to those in the control.
